Christian Mariano - Brandon Scott
background / biography
Fresh Prodeuce is a production team born and raised in Philadelphia, and currently based out of New York City and Atlanta. It is the brainchild of two gifted musicians (Christian Mariano and Brandon Scott) who both met each other in their hometown of Philadelphia in the 90s as they discovered their tendencies for the great hip-hop and R&B music birthed from that particular decade of music.
Christian Mariano, currently a 25-year-old resident of Queens, New York City, started out in music as a classically trained pianist at the age of 7. After 5 years of lessons, he left his music school and grew on his own as a musician, becoming a self-taught jazz pianist, and adding guitar to his arsenal of instruments as well.
Brandon Scott, currently a 24-year-old resident of Atlanta, GA, is a natural musician, period. While he might not be able to read a musical note for the life of him, play him a tune and he'll play it right back on the keys, putting a whole new spin on it you never would have thought. Also a well-trained engineer, Brandon spent years as an assistant at the famed Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta, GA where multi-platinum records from Usher, OutKast, Mary J Blige and many more have been crafted.
Together as Fresh Prodeuce, they have opened as showcasing producers for artists such as The Alchemist and Prodigy, and are also undefeated 3-time Champions of Atlanta's "The Beat Down" at Apache Cafe, as well as recent winners of the August 2008 NYC iStandard Producers Showcase. They have finished up work with some unsigned talent such as CAUSE of the Bronx (www.causemusic.net), among others.
Their goal is to challenge every listeners ears, and blur the lines of any current perceptions of traditional hip-hop and R&B, giving birth to a whole new style of music that is equal parts southern bounce, west coast G-Funk, midwest soul/R&B, and the east coast/NYC hip-hop that started it all.
