background / biography
Miko Allyn was born in Los Alamitos , CA , as Romiko Allyn Quinones. From a young age he followed his father from studio to studio, recording and producing for numerous artists. With always being surrounded by musicians it has encouraged him to follow his dream of being one himself. He started with playing the guitar and bass then moved onto the keyboard.
At the age of 14 Miko got his first MAC computer and started to produce his own music via Pro Tools. Miko has a passion for producing various genres of music. He is one that can create on the spot while sitting with an artist. With so many ideas going through his mind, he has a massive library that consists of all types of music.
In 2007, he assisted in forming a 6 member Alternative Rock band called Westside Story. They placed 1st in numerous Battle of the Bands, played all over Southern California and Nevada , and they were also chosen to play at the 2008 Vans Warp Tour. After a couple of years, several members of the band decided to venture on their own. In 2009, Miko decided to begin his own project, and called it QDR. QDR is a mix of Electro, Indie, and Pop. Others compare QDR’s music to LMFAO, Cobra Starship, and 3 OH! 3, bundled with an alternative twist. Within a month’s time QDR was asked to open up for Far East Movement. With the outcome being so successful, they brought him back to open at a second show. This gave him the encouragement to keep moving forward. Miko attended the ASCAP “I Create Music” Expo in April of 2009 and was chosen to have one of his songs reviewed by a panel of judges with exceptional response. He has worked on a number of music Intro’s with DJ Vinn Dogg and Mr. Swiff of Inland Empire ’s 99.1 KGGI.
Miko has taken his music career a step further and has attended a number of music courses. He is now certified in Pro Tools, Mixing, and Mastering. He is a one stop shop. He creates, produces, engineers, mixes, and masters all of his own music. He is now ready for the next step of his electrifying career.
