Originally from Long Island gunning for that “Mass Appeal”...a hip hop kid since 88, I, DJ iLLskiLL aka “your girls favorite DJ” began listening to a variety of tapes from Rakim to MC Hammer. Whether it was PE, EPMD, or De La, hip hop immediately grabbed my attention. For nearly 2 decades I’ve seen hip hop evolve into what it is today and as a avid listener…I know what dope hip hop is.
Finally I wanted to play a part in the art form as a DJ instead of just being a listener but I could never afford turntables. In 2001 my man Ramsey talked me into buying my 1st pair. Since 01 I’ve spun several gigs, done a few mixtapes, and finally in July of 2004 got a push from my man Crow Digga into making beats. With that DJ ear and nearly 2 decades of listening under my belt I started creating beats I envisioned from a focal point in which no one has ever heard. With that said, I stand before you today. Hate it or Love it, I’m here to bring some vigorousness back to the game.
