[what is istandard and what do we we stand for]?
We Create Opportunity
Since 2005, the word [istandard] has become synonymous with the world of music creation, and it’s easy to see why.
Its founders’ vision was to create a platform in which the music producer and songwriter could step out from behind the boards and display their talents to an audience conducive to enhancing their career. In essence, we wanted to unlock the industry doors and let more people in.
We invited Grammy Award winning producers, multi-platinum engineers, hit songwriters, artists, executives, etc to come give advice and feedback to unknown beat makers hoping to gain access to the industry and the craziest thing is, it started working.
We Believe in Education
Knowledge is power. We have partnered with some of the greatest minds and institutions in music over the past decade to provide creatives with knowledge. From feedback at events to our first music conference with Sha Money and G-Unit in 2007, [istandard] has been committed to bringing you the information you need to succeed.
We’ve partnered with ASCAP, A3C Conference and Festival, SXSW, SAE Institute, Mediatech, Institute of Audio Research and more. We even started the Beat Camp program and made the Business of Music Production Workshop a key component of who we are. We love to see people succeed and constantly educating yourself on all disciplines involved is the first step to getting where you want to go.
We Practice Honesty
At istandard we under-promise and over-deliver. We’ve seen so many people guaranteeing placements, sales, status, streams, deals, etc. We don’t make guarantees. We tell you the real deal. If you work hard and show up people will notice. If you work hard you’ll impress people with your work ethic while getting better at your craft.
We will do everything we can to enhance and add to your work ethic. We will provide you with as many tools as possible to help you succeed, but the work is on you. We are advocates for producers, not charlatans with a get rich quick scheme.
Let’s put the pieces of the puzzle together and build a successful career through education and networking.
This aint no beat battle
…but we do love a good sample flip so much that we started #SampleFlipSaturday in multiple markets around the US and at Beat Camps. There is a competitive aspect to our experiences but your main competition is yourself.
We focused on producers primarily at the onset, but [istandard] has grown to become a coalition of producers, engineers, songwriters, entertainment attorneys, photographers, artists, visual artists and more. When the main focus is bettering yourself and your art, there are no rules, no boundaries, and everyone is invited.
iwrite is completely dedicated to providing a platform for budding songwriters to grow and network in the same manner our producers have been doing for years. Artists at an [istandard] event are like kids in candy stores with all the hungry young collaborators in the room. Come out and build with us. This is a family affair and the community is strong!
